How the Mexicans feel about the first female president
This 2024 is a very important year for Mexicans, with all our social, economic and political crisis, the political party in power is perceived as a ray of hope, which is called Morena, founded by the current president of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) and the future first woman president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, studying history has taught me to question and analyze political processes, in other words not to believe in politicians, on the contrary, to criticize them, but I have no doubt how proud I am that Claudia Sheimbaum has been elected and it's a general feeling, just look at how many people voted for her in the June 2nd elections, almost 40 million people, a triumph without a doubt, historic, Claudia Sheinbaum had more votes than AMLO in the last elections, this gives us an idea that more than half of the country supports the party and its president, another thing would be to analyze the good and bad decisions that AMLO has made.
Claudia is criticized for her close political relationship with AMLO, many critics claim that Obrador will be giving "advice" to Claudia, personally I do not think so, because she has presented the presidential cabinet, all experts in their field, with degrees from prestigious universities and with extensive experience in political positions, it seems that Claudia bet for a scientific thinking rather than loyalty to the political party Morena and its movement called "The Fourth Transformation" this could be a good topic to develop in the blog.
Lets take a look in to Claudias history, she was born in Mexico City in 1962, in a secular Jewish family, her parents were scientists, I am particularly struck by the fact that her father was a member of the Mexican Communist Party, she has a leftist influence from both parents, they were associated with protests, labor movements and student revolts in the 60's, which is when demonstrating against the government was quite dangerous.
She was associated with the Democratic Revolution Party in the 80's and 90's, a leftist party.
His university studies were at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), where she got his degree in physics in 1989, continued his postgraduate studies and obtained his master's degree in Energy Engineering in 1994, a year later he entered the PhD program at Berkeley, following his line of research on the link between energy and climate change.
Among many other titles, publications and conferences, what stands out the most is his incorporation to the Group of Experts on Climate Change, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was in charge of the Secretary of the Environment of the Federal District and together with AMLO founded the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) party with which they would both reach the presidency and are present in the legislative chamber in addition to governing most of the states of the Mexican Republic.
She was head of government of Mexico City from 2018-2024, focusing on citizen mobility, supporting students with scholarships and reducing crime.
She is the most prepared president the country has ever had, besides the fact that her mind set is scientific, her political history places her in the center left, without a doubt Mexico is changing for the better, although the change is slow and we have to solve many social problems, at least it is a step in the right direction.
